Financial Literacy Programme

SICO launched its Financial Literacy Programme to support economic inclusion by equipping school students across Bahrain with essential financial knowledge and life skills.

Delivered through interactive sessions led by volunteers from SICO’s Global Markets team, the programme focuses on topics such as saving, investing, and responsible financial decision-making. By promoting financial awareness at an early stage, the initiative aims to empower young people with the skills needed to make informed financial choices in the future.

Women’s Empowerment Initiative

In May 2025, SICO launched its Women’s Empowerment Initiative as part of its ongoing commitment to diversity, inclusion, and talent development.

The programme was designed following an internal employee survey to better understand areas of interest and development priorities among female employees. The results highlighted strong demand for initiatives focused on career advancement, leadership visibility, confidence building, and work–life balance.

The programme consists of four interactive virtual sessions, each lasting 90 minutes, combining practical tools, self-assessments, and group discussions. The sessions focus on key themes including confidence and assertiveness, leadership presence, career progression, and managing professional and personal priorities.

Through this initiative, SICO aims to foster an inclusive workplace culture while supporting the professional development and progression of female talent across the organization.

Food Bank Initiative

As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development, SICO supports initiatives that address food security while promoting environmental sustainability.

During the year, the Bank partnered with a licensed national organization dedicated to the recovery and redistribution of surplus edible food. Through this initiative, excess food is safely redirected to families in need while reducing organic waste sent to landfills.

To date, the programme has helped distribute more than three million meals, benefiting over 3,000 families. The initiative aligns with Bahrain Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
